RAU.bayern builds nuclear power plant in Vienna

Wait a minute, is that allowed? Don’t worry! This new “nuclear power plant” is an“alternative power plant” that RAU.bayern is building for RBS Recyclingbaustoffe Seyring GmbH of the Leitäusl Group in Vienna: A RAU Klimawand R3 with a total length of 275 m and a height of 4 m.

The special thing about it: while the outside is planted and presents itself to the street as a lively green, ecological noise barrier, the inside is equipped with a photovoltaic system from Ing. The PV modules are securely attached to the supporting structure of the noise barrier using a special device. The angle of the solar radiation is also optimally adjusted.

The energy generated along the entire length of the RAU climate wall, with a generator output of around 140kWp and an annual electricity yield of around 140MWh, will be used by the company itself during the week and fed into the grid at weekends. Both the system and its use have thus been further optimized. A real “alternative power plant”.
