RAU Geosystem Süd GmbH, based in Kaufbeuren

RAU.bayern designs and builds densely planted noise barriers for local authorities and private clients across Bavaria, Austria, Switzerland and northern Italy. Our partner company, RAU Lärmschutzwände Geosystem GBK GmbH in Berlin, looks after the rest of Germany.

RAU.bayern is managed by Erwin Königsberger, who comes from the Allgäu region. A state-certified technician in landscaping, gardening and sports-ground construction, he spent many years in landscape construction before specialising, around 20 years ago, in a different kind of noise barrier: planted, highly effective and in keeping with its surroundings. He is supported by a team of specialist engineers and staff in administration and construction.

Building regionally, keeping distances short

The fill material for our Klimawand barriers comes from local suppliers with the shortest possible transport distances, and wherever we can, we reuse soil from local excavation so that valuable topsoil is not wasted. The wall elements are delivered flat-packed and assembled on site, so even large or long barriers usually need just one lorry, two at most.

For planting, we use only species native to Bavaria or the region concerned.
