Safe route to the leisure facilities
A new footpath and cycle path was built along the OAL 8 from Trauchgau to the existing sports facilities and clubhouses of the municipality of Halblech. Due to the positioning of the sports facilities away from the districts, there is a lot of walking and cycling traffic, especially from children and young people. As they previously had to travel on the district road, there was a constant risk of danger. This construction has now created a safe route to the leisure facilities in both communities.
A noise barrier was also planned as part of this construction work. Our job was to build a 65m long RAU climate wall (R3) along the busy road. In cooperation with the Ostallgäu nature conservation authority, a planting concept was developed that takes up the natural, hardy flora of the area and thus offers the animals and insects living here optimal conditions for food and shelter. The following plants were used:
Hedera helix – Ivy Very undemanding, native plant, evergreen Rosa arvensis – Field rose Particularly hardy and frost-hardy, ecologically valuable native wild rose, rich flowering, rose hip-bearing, bee-friendly, robust Clematis vitalba – Common clematis Native wild perennial, rich insect-friendly flowering, easy to care for and robust
