Accident prevention for a kindergarten in Basel, Switzerland

The purpose of “major accident prevention” is to protect the population and the environment from serious damage caused by major accidents. Such precautions are not unique to Switzerland! It also exists as an ordinance in Germany. Among other things, it applies to railroad facilities on which dangerous goods are transported or handled. This also applies to our latest project, a kindergarten in Basel, Switzerland. Our RAU Klimawand R3 was not only built for noise protection, but for protection in general.

We were able to erect this almost 30 m long “protective wall” in two days. The earthworks had already been prepared by the landscape architects on site and we “only” had to deliver, install and fill our noise barrier. The landscape architects also carried out the planting work afterwards.

We brought everything we needed to build our noise barrier from Germany. As always, only the filling material was sourced locally, and the excavator and wheel loader were rented for the construction period. Quickly there, quickly built – that’s RAU Geosystem Süd and that’s how we like it.
