Published in the Bavarian State Gazette on September 18, 2026
On September 18, 2026, the *Bayerische Staatszeitung* published an article on the importance of effective noise protection for BESS systems and large-scale energy storage projects.
In an article titled “Preventing Complaints About Noisy Inverters,” noise control expert Erwin Königsberger of Rau Geosystem Süd GmbH explains why noise control should be considered early on in the design of battery storage systems. Inverters, fans, and other technical components can generate significant noise—especially near residential areas.
Flexible solutions, even in tight spaces
RAU Geosystem Süd offers various noise barriers for BESS facilities and large-scale photovoltaic projects. For example, RAU Rock can be used when space is limited. If more space is available, the RAU Klimawand R3, which can be planted with vegetation, is an ideal sustainable noise barrier solution.
In many cases, appropriate noise control solutions can also be retrofitted to existing facilities.
