RAU.bayern on Mallorca

Yes indeed, RAU.bayern is building noise protection in Mallorca! A client from Kemptner commissioned us for a RAU R3 climate wall at his new finca in Llucmajor. The town is located about 15 kilometers southeast of Palma airport within sight of the Puig de Randa mountain in the middle of the unspoilt Mallorcan countryside. The RAU Klimawand R3 will later protect the residents of the finca not only from the noise of the nearby road, but also from the island’s constantly blowing wind.

The particular challenge here is to integrate the 4 m high and 50 m long noise barrier unobtrusively into the terrain. We planned an organically moving form with wide arches that does not show its (necessary) size. An integrated door provides access to the outside. The wall is planted with fast-growing native climbing plants such as bougainvillea and passion flower. Spectacular!

The individual parts of the climate wall were manufactured in Berlin, transported by freight forwarder to Barcelona and from there by ferry to the Balearic island. The transport was accompanied by RAU.bayern’s permanent staff. The required cranes, the material for the pouring and other personnel were organized on site to conserve resources.

RAU noise protection in Mallorca too? Seguro que sí. Of course!
