Optimal noise protection combination

Rehau is located in the Upper Franconian district of Hof near the border triangle of Bavaria, Saxony and Bohemia. The town has been actively involved in urban development for many years and currently operates five redevelopment areas to revitalize the town centre and make it even more attractive.

To ensure that future generations will also fill this beautiful town with life, the city council has developed the new “Fichtig Süd” residential area with 33 building plots. One side of the development area is idyllically situated by the Perlenbach stream, while the Berliner Allee forms the border on the other side. In order to create a view of the greenery and, above all, peace and quiet here too, the GEWOG housing association of the town of Rehau has built a green RAU Klimawand R3 with a length of 295.55 m and a height of 4.00 m above the edge of the road or above the ground.

The special feature of this climate wall is that construction work must be carried out at a minimum distance of 20 m from the edge of the road due to the no-addition zone on federal highways. For this reason, the climate wall on the road side with a stone facing on one side is supported by the RAU Alpin gabion wall gabion wall. Around 240 m³ of local green stone from the Hessit Werk quarry will be used as gabion gravel. As a passageway from the construction area to the road, our RAU Rock will also be installed.

The Rehau construction project shows once again how the variation possibilities of the different RAU noise barriers can achieve optimum results for clients and residents alike.
