Solid economic factor
An ecologically sustainable noise barrier consisting of steel mesh baskets, soil and plants, combined with a powerful photovoltaic system, was installed on the company premises of Nestlé AG.
The noise barriers were modified to allow the installation of photovoltaic elements with optimum alignment.
The empty cable conduits and electronic components run inside the wall, while the photovoltaic modules are installed on the top of the wall.
The result: an ecologically sustainable building that generates renewable energy and more than finances itself in this way. A noise barrier as a solid economic factor.
Note: The area of photovoltaic modules can be adapted in such a way that the electricity yield not only covers part of the construction costs, but in many cases even the costs of the entire measure, including planning and maintenance costs.
