The slim RAU skirt saves space

From 04.06. to 18.06.2025 we were on the construction site of a new daycare center. The municipality of Mering writes about this project on its website: “In the new two-storey facility, spacious play corridors with inviting indoor play niches will invite little explorers to unleash their creativity and explore the world around them. With seven lovingly designed groups – three kindergarten groups on the upper floor and four crèche groups on the first floor – the facility offers a total of 123 childcare places, in addition to 12 emergency places. These are urgently needed in view of the increasing demand for childcare facilities for the youngest children.”

RAU.bayern was commissioned to build a noise barrier for this new daycare center, which is expected to be named “Abenteuerburg Erna & Elisabeth” (after Erna and Elisabeth Summer) as a thank you for the donation of the land. As space had to be saved, a slim RAU Rock was planned in conjunction with concrete elements. For this purpose, the foundations for the steel girders were drilled using pile-driven pipes. The skirt and concrete elements were then inserted precisely into the steel girders.
