70 m RAU climate change in 6 days
The large district town of Traunstein is growing and is developing the new “Seiboldsdorf” building area. This residential area is intended to provide numerous families from Traunstein with a home of their own. When drawing up the development plan, the town also commissioned a noise report, which showed that “noise protection precautions” were required on the 2105 state road in the area south of the junction of the development road for the planned housing estate. For this reason, a noise barrier around 70 m long was planned from the new development area to the traffic circle. It will reliably protect the 2.2 hectare area on the southern outskirts of the large district town, which will later have 28 detached houses and 45 rental apartments in a multi-storey four-sided courtyard, from road noise.
The particular challenge of this project was that the new residential area is much lower than street level and the difference in height is compensated for by a retaining wall made of large blocks, which also supports the embankment. To ensure that the RAU climate wall a thin concrete slab had to be placed on top of the wall. In addition, drainage pipes were integrated in advance for targeted drainage of the walkway at the top, which will be necessary with the increasing amounts of rainfall in the future.
The RAUbayern team was able to complete this challenging project in just 6 days despite the bad weather. Including planting. Respect!
